"A heartfelt thank you to Chef Tony, Chef Vincent, Chef Eddie, Chef Tommy, Chef Fahmi, Jessy, and Willson. On 2 August, our friends arrived much later than expected after descending from Mount Kinabalu. We had a buffet booking, but by the time they reached the restaurant, it was already close to the 9:00 PM closing time. Despite that, Chef Tony, Chef Vincent, Chef Eddie, Chef Tommy, and Chef Fahmi went above and beyond by preparing fresh food especially for them instead of simply serving what was left. Jessy and Willson were also incredibly kind and attentive, making sure our friends were well looked after and had a wonderful meal after such a long and exhausting climb. They were deeply touched by the warmth, care, and exceptional hospitality shown by all of you. Your kindness turned what could have been a disappointing end to the day into a truly memorable experience. Thank you all for your outstanding service and generosity. It is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten."

"We had lunch at Liwagu Restaurant during our trip to Kundasang, and it was one of the best meals we had during our stay. The Kari Ikan Kerapu Merah Pinasakan was absolutely outstanding. The curry was rich, fragrant and pleasantly spicy, while the red grouper was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. There were only two of us, but after finishing the first serving, we immediately ordered a second one because it was simply too good to resist. The Nasi Goreng Kundasang and Ayam Goreng Berempah were also very enjoyable and well worth trying. Both dishes were flavourful and nicely prepared. On top of the delicious food, all the staff were friendly, attentive and very polite, making the dining experience even more pleasant. Great food, beautiful surroundings and excellent service. We will definitely return on our next visit to Kinabalu Park. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"I stopped by Liwagu Restaurant for breakfast while walking from my hotel toward the Mount Kinabalu Botanical Garden, and it turned out to be a very pleasant way to start the morning before exploring Kinabalu Park. The restaurant serves as the dining area for Liwagu Suites guests, but it’s also open to walk-in visitors. I opted for the breakfast buffet at RM62 per person. There was a decent selection, and it was convenient to have a proper, filling breakfast before doing more walking around the park. What I liked most was the open-air setting. In the morning, the sunlight enters the restaurant beautifully, and combined with the cool mountain air and greenery surrounding the area, breakfast felt very relaxing. It’s one of those places where the environment adds a lot to the meal. Service was also good throughout my visit. The staff were accommodating and the overall atmosphere was calm and unhurried. RM62 isn’t exactly a cheap breakfast, but considering the location inside Kinabalu Park, the buffet setup, and the beautiful morning ambiance, I enjoyed the experience. A good stop before heading deeper into the park or taking a stroll around the botanical garden."
